Solar Victoria’s purpose is to enable Victorians to access clean and affordable household energy, now and into the future. We deliver the Solar Homes program, offering rebates to make solar panels, solar hot water, solar batteries and solar for rental properties more affordable. By switching to solar, Victorians reduce their energy bills, boost our renewable energy supply, support solar jobs, and improve our grid security.

With demonstrated assurance and compliance experience and strong problem-solving abilities, the successful candidates will possess a high standard of stakeholder management and communication skills.

Reporting to the Program Director, Risk, Assurance and Standards, the Senior Project Officer - Assurance Systems is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of Solar Victoria's safety and quality audit program and supporting the design and implementation of robust risk management, governance and monitoring mechanisms and assurance processes for Solar Victoria's new programs of work.

The new programs of work include a new solar PV rebate stream for small businesses and a program to support low-income households with energy efficient heating and cooling system upgrades

The roles will establish risk-based safety and quality auditing policies, methodology and procedures, processes for data-driven analysis and management of audit findings and coordinating procurement activities to engage and onboard third-party audit service providers. The roles also include the provision of professional advice, and responsibilities for leading the design and implementation of a range of risk management, compliance and assurance processes to operationalise the new programs into the division's substantive work program.

Solar Victoria's work program is high profile and an important component of the Government's energy policy reform agenda. The roles will involves maintaining collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Customer Experience, Communication and Industry Engagement teams, and external stakeholders, including regulators, Government and industry, consultants and contractors, to ensure alignment to existing risk management and assurance practices and delivery of a best practice approach in safety and quality.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role involving the design, delivery and operation of complex, risk-based safety, compliance/governance or quality assurance auditing systems is essential.
  • Experience in the design and deployment of safety and quality assurance frameworks/ management systems or operational processes within a government or regulatory function is highly desired.
  • Relevant tertiary degree or qualifications in engineering, regulation or audit/assurance system design (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO9001, ISO19011)

These are fixed term positions available for a period of 12 months.

One position is located at Morwell.

One position has a preferred location of Morwell (flexibility may be negotiated for a base location of Melbourne CBD, where requested by the successful applicant).
