The Environment and Community Programs Branch is seeking a Senior Project Officer – Co-Investment to support efforts to leverage private and philanthropic investment into the environment in way that enhances the outcomes of the Biodiveristy 2037 plan. 

The Senior Project Officer will be working with a broad range of government and non-government stakeholders and provide timely advice to the department. The role will involve information gathering, stakeholder and relationship engagement and project management. To be successful in this position, you will have strong project management skills, effective research and analytical skills to inform advice on priorities for investment, proven time management skills, and a flexible and responsive attitude to your work. You will also have a good understanding of environmental issues and how investment, and processes associate with it, can best be delivered to achieve the outcome and aspirations of Biodiversity 2037. 

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders across government, non-government organizations and community is a requirement. Some experience in either design and delivery of grant opportunities and partnerships with Traditional Owners is desirable

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in public policy, environmental science, biology or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Knowledge of government investment including grants, partnerships, co-investment and how it can be best utilized to achieve positive outcomes is desirable.  

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 1 year.
