About us

The Integrity, Legal and Law Reform Group provides legal, policy, integrity and assurance expertise to the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and Justice Ministers. Integrity and Reviews provide integrity and assurance expertise and support the DJCS staff at the Post Sentence Authority and the Inspector-General for Emergency Management.  

Integrity and Investigations is comprised of four streams of work: 

  • Integrity Culture manages DJCS' Integrity Framework, Integrity Strategy and Child Safety compliance 
  • Intelligence and Detection lead the management of e-forensic and intelligence activities
  • Conduct and Corruption Investigations undertake investigations into allegations of corruption, misconduct and reportable conduct (including referrals to integrity agencies) and manage DJCS' Public Interest Disclosures. 
  • Integrity Operations, manage DJCS' engagement and responses to the state integrity agencies, including the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) and the Victorian Ombudsman (VO).

About the role

The Senior Project Officer, Integrity Culture works in the Integrity Culture team to deliver risk management, education, communications, integrity policy, and child safety compliance activities.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conduct the planning, coordinating and delivery of projects and initiatives and support operational and strategic tasking and planning activities including the implementation of the DJCS Integrity Strategy.
  • Establish communication channels to ensure information regarding updates to processes and systems and other material is shared with the team and wider DJCS in a timely manner.
  • Leverage best practice approaches, research and innovative thinking and analysis to shape and inform project deliverables, develop actions and support decision making.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will possess:

  • Proven project experience in independently drafting key documents by analysing and interpreting data to create reports, briefings and presentations
  • Knowledge of and/or experience of Child Safety policy, programs and relevant standards. An understanding of Integrity prevention programs
  • Ability to translate strategies into programs or projects that enables achievement of outcomes required and define governance e.g. success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring) required to manage risks and maximise probability of success
  • Ability to identify issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and uses them to build mutually beneficial partnerships, identify and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs and use understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved
  • Ability to guide others to create a culture of collaboration, identify, and work to overcome, barriers to knowledge or information sharing
