Work location: South West Region

Lead the delivery of key sub-projects within legislative work stream of the Great Ocean Road Action Plan program, in particular the establishment of regulations for land management, tour operator licences and visitor charges within the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks.

This position is part of the Great Ocean Road Management Reform (GORMR) Team which is responsible for implementing the Great Ocean Road Action Plan. This role leads the implementation of new legislation that has been established to enable the Great Ocean Road management reforms, in particular the establishment of regulations to support the newly created Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority to manage parks and public land, and to charge visitor fees. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to plan, manage and successfully implement complex and sensitive projects, a good working knowledge of the Great Ocean Road and Environs Protect Act 2020 and public land legislation. They will demonstrate initiative, have excellent analytical and clear-thinking skills, and have sound negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A qualification in law is preferred.
  • Experience in working with public land legislation is required.
  • Experience in working with the Great Ocean Road and Environs Protection Act is preferred.

This is a fixed term position available until 24 July 2023. The location for this position is Negotiable within the Barwon South West Region.
