About North East Link

The North East Link Project (NELP) is a $15.8bn infrastructure project that will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, whilst increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east whilst creating thousands of new jobs.

NELP is the Victorian Government entity responsible for the delivery of this mega-project. NELP has already laid out initial design concepts, engaged community leaders and are now at tendering stage with several major contractors. With completion due in 2027, things are ramping up fast at NELP.

About the opportunity

The Senior Project Specialist, Systems Integration is responsible for the planning, control, integration and readiness of all operational systems and functions of the North East Link project. This includes activation of all Operations and Maintenance Systems (road, tunnel and Intelligent Transportation Systems), Tolling Enabling Infrastructure and interfaces, integration and coordination elements and the required capabilities and approvals for the North East Project to prepare, transition, commence and sustain motorway operations and toll collection activities.

Initially set in NELP's Transactions team this position is critical for the success of NELP and specifically to ensure that all parts of the project are provided with all required system engineering, integration and road/tunnel operational inputs. A key outcome is for the project to deliver an asset that can be safely and efficiently operated and maintained, tolled and delivers the benefits as specified in the business case.

About you:

We are looking for a proactive manager and subject matter expert capable of providing expert advice on the procurement, delivery, design, integration and testing of motorway, tunnel and toll collection systems

Other Requirements:

1. Extensive experience in planning, procuring and managing O&M (motorway, tunnel, ITS and managed motorway) systems, ICT and tolling systems and practices across major infrastructure projects, with complex commercial arrangements.

2. Extensive experience in systems engineering, integration and safety critical systems.

3. Proven experience in the definition, establishment and management of infrastructure O&M systems, operations and services.
