The primary purpose of Senior Quality Assurance Officer is to undertake assessments and investigations of the compliance of schools with the minimum standards for registration as part of VRQA's program of school review. The role contributes to the work of a highly trained, skilled and motivated team in a dynamic and challenging environment. This role provides opportunities to offer effective and creative solutions through the application of sound research, analysis and stakeholder engagement strategies.

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) is a statutory authority established under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006. Within the VRQA, the Quality Assurance Schools and Senior Secondary Unit is responsible for registering all Victorian schools (government and non-government) and reviewing them against minimum standards for registration. The unit also registers non-school senior secondary providers.

Reporting into the Manager, Quality Assurance Schools and Senior Secondary (Reviews), the primary purpose of this role is to undertake the assessment and investigation of compliance in the school review process for registered schools undergoing cyclical or non-cyclical reviews.

Success in this role requires working within a team environment, ensuring appropriate engagement across the VRQA, including members of the registration team which also falls under the Quality Assurance Schools and Senior Secondary Unit.

The role works as part of a team of quality assurance officers and relies on a mix of skills in research, analysis and stakeholder management. In this unique role you will have the opportunity to engage with a number of key internal staff and external stakeholders across independent schools, review bodies, contracted school reviewers, financial health assessors, the Department of Education and Training as well as other government agencies within Victoria and other jurisdictions.
