The North East Link Project will deliver the missing link in Melbourne's road network that will finally complete the Metropolitan Ring Road by connecting the M80 to the Eastern Freeway to improve outer north-south links for road freight movement and improve travel time and reliability.

About North East Link

The North East Link Project will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east.

About the opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Project's Safety team! You will create training initiatives and safety programs for all of NELP, aligned to key organisational and project milestones, explore innovative technologies with delivery contractors and external organisations and work with the other Project Offices within MTIA on identifying industry leading practicest. You will develop meaningful relationships while innovating safety initiatives! You will work with senior leaders to identify knowledge and skills gaps from a health and safety perspective, ensuring to develop, facilitate and measure the success of your solutions. You will utilise your analytical capabilities, continuous improvement mindset and communication skills to report and present on outcomes and improvements to senior management. You will naturally adopt a safety-first mindset, and champion safety leadership and culture!

About you:

You don't need a construction safety background, although experience working with or in safety teams would be highly regarded! You could be a L&D specialist or facilitator seeking a change. What is important is that you possess a genuine passion for embedding a safety-first approach across multiple functions within a busy and growing organisation!

You are:

  • A genuine people person who builds strong and trusted partnerships and believes in bringing others along the journey to achieve meaningful safety outcomes.
  • Able to manage multiple projects - scheduling, budgeting and reporting are second nature to you!
  • A clear, concise and engaging communicator who possesses the ability to engage audiences across a diverse range of topics – your facilitation skills are second to none!
