About us

The Fines, Registration and Crime Prevention group is involved in enhancing community safety and wellbeing.

We do this through:

  • public policy
  • governance and legislative advice and reform provision
  • registry and adoption services
  • worker screening services
  • community crime prevention
  • management of the end-to-end infringements system
  • enforcement activities.

About the role

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • designing, implementing and deploying new functionality according to the given specification, ensuring components meet defined business needs, and retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures
  • ensuring a high level of technical expertise in the delivery of new applications, application enhancements and bug-fixes to existing business applications
  • developing, enhancing and maintaining quality, performance and reliability in the core systems as well as build, test and deployment processes.

The role will also provide technical resources across the whole Software Development Life Cycle to provide enhancements and fixes to the Working with Children and Worker Screening applications.

About you

As a Senior Software Developer, you will possess:

  • a minimum of 5-6 years experience in the technologies of C# .NET, SQL Server, JavaScript frameworks (preferably AngularJS) and IIS Server Administration
  • experience across a range of software development methodologies including Agile based methodologies, Waterfall and Prototyping
  • significant understanding of application architecture and knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture
  • experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to other software developers.

A tertiary degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience) would be highly regarded.
