SENIOR STATUTORY PLANNING OFFICER

  • Annual Salary Range: $101,120 to $122,348 per annum plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Ongoing
  • Employment Type: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual Work Location: Loddon Mallee Region, Bendigo (flexibility may be available)

About the Team

To deliver transport services across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.

About the Opportunity

This role is responsible in providing statutory planning services, including review of planning referrals, Transport Impact Assessment Reports, and assessment of strategic level land use decisions including input to Municipal Strategic Statements and Planning Scheme Amendments.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have the:

  • 8+ years' experience in Planning highly desirable
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement in the application of statutory planning processes, to recommend and respond to planning applications (e.g. access controls, permit conditions, Section 173 agreements etc) and recognise referrals under different sections of the Act.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders regarding access management policies, appropriate building setback standards, noise policy standards and the road declaration process to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Ability to develop innovative response to complex problems where defined policy, procedures and precedents do not always exist and provide advice on DoT Traffic Engineering Manuals, Austroads Guides, and Australian Standards on various traffic management and road safety issues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders to progress work through negotiation and influencing key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
