About the role

Our Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Department is undertaking a major recruitment drive to extend the department’s capability to support the increasing requirements of our health service. We are seeking highly skilled and dynamic ICT specialists to join us in a variety of roles to deliver core processes, manage operations and projects, and mitigate cyber security risks.

Eastern Health has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer. You will be supporting the new CIO at Eastern Health to facilitate the Infrastructure team to deliver the core Infrastructure Services. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will have the opportunity to assist the Infrastructure team via improvement, maintaining stability and having a key role in the design and development of the core infrastructure services

The Senior Systems engineer is a full time position and responsible for delivering a high level of technical support, development, documentation and management of core infrastructure, security and systems across all Eastern Health sites and providing leadership, development for the Infrastructure Team and its stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for assisting with delivery of key initiatives incorporating SAN, Server and Desktop virtualisation, Backup and Recovery, Cloud/SaaS and Security whilst maintaining the current environment and customer SLA's

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• 4 Years+ experience in a similar position and/or extensive technical knowledge


• VCAP, MCSE, EMCCAE, CCA,CCE or equivalent skills and experience


• Expertise with SAN storage system Dell/EMC (XtremIO, Unity, Isilon)


• Expertise with Administering and managing VMWare


• Expertise with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops including ADC


• Expertise with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems


• Expertise with Microsoft server applications (Exchange Server 2016/2019, Systems Centre/Intune)


• Expertise with Cisco Unified Server infrastructure (UCS)


• Expertise with Data Protection platforms (Backup & Recovery, Disaster recovery)


• Expertise with Active Directory, ADFS, Azure


• Imprivata identity management solutions


• Scripting and automation skills - Powershell


• Excellent communication skills – will be engaging with business users and project stakeholders
