The Senior Valuer will provide valuation advice and undertake and manage complex, urgent, and sensitive valuations for government agencies. The Senior Valuer will develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The incumbent will be required to provide valuation advice and undertake and manage complex, urgent, and sensitive valuations for government agencies. Developing a strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Valuer General Victoria (VGV) provides professional valuation services and expertise to and on behalf of Government. This comprises two key functional areas:

  • Government Valuations – for Whole-of-Government property transactions; and
  • Rating Authority Valuations – Certification and/or provision of Municipal Valuations.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API).
  • Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001: 2015
  • Knowledge and experience in undertaking valuations for a variety of property asset classes and purposes.
