A unique opportunity to undertake and outsource complex, urgent and sensitive valuations for government agencies and public sector clients ensuring the maintenance of valuation standards

The incumbent will be required to provide valuation advice, undertake and outsource complex, urgent and sensitive valuations. Developing a strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders is essential. The positions reports to the Manager Client Valuations.

Valuer General Victoria (VGV) provides professional valuation services and expertise to and on behalf of Government. This comprises two key functional areas:

  • Government Valuations – for Whole-of-Government property transactions; and
  • Rating Authority Valuations – Certification and/or provision of Municipal Valuations.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API).
  • Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters.
  • Knowledge of Legislation associated with Compulsory Land Acquisition procedures in Victoria.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001: 2015
