The Position:


The Simulation Technologist role is responsible for the integration, support, maintenance and operation of specialised technical processes for the Royal Children’s Hospital Simulation Team. Along with providing administrative support to, and work collaboratively with, Simulation Team in order to deliver our innovative Simulation-based Education across the Royal Children’s Hospital and Victoria through community based simulation delivery. This role also supports and contributes to Simulation Department research.



This position complements a second Simulation Technologist post and would suit someone with previous Simulation technology experience, or a Biomedical Engineering, Audio-visual, Information Technology, or Simulation Coordinator (with technical experience) background. There also may be opportunity for participating in simulation department research.

  • Demonstrated work experience in a technical services area

  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot technical simulation related issues

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills including the ability to relate positively to all levels of personnel in the health sector

  • Highly developed attention to detail

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills
