About us:

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) is a Victorian government statutory authority and energy safety regulator, responsible for ensuring electricity, gas and pipeline safety for all Victorians. This is achieved through safety systems which audit and monitor the design, construction and maintenance of all electricity and gas networks and installations and by ensuring that appliances and equipment meet safety and energy efficiency standards before they are sold. In addition, comprehensive public awareness campaigns are undertaken to educate the community on the potential dangers of gas and electricity.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Communications & Marketing (CAMS) and working with CAMS colleagues and the broader ESV, the Social Media and Design Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing Energy Safe Victoria's social media strategy and ensuring ESV's content is relevant, innovative and engaging.

The Social Media and Design Advisor role is also responsible for the design of key publications including EnergySafe Magazine, brochures, reports and other publications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop ESV's social content, driving engagement and growth across all channels. Promote ESV's public awareness campaigns through digital and social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
  • Monitor other relevant organisations, including government and industry stakeholders social media, for relevant shareable content or to identify potential reputational issues that may impact ESV.
  • Manage real time contact with stakeholders on social media channels including content moderation.
  • Analyse content performance, identify emerging trends and provide insights to keep ESV relevant and engaging to our audiences. Create reporting dashboards to present activity across social channels and support continual improvement.
  • Work with the Commission Chairperson, CEO and ESV executive to educate and raise the profile of the leadership and the organisation via social media channels.

To be considered:

  • In addition to your tertiary qualification in Communication, Public Relations or equivalent work experience, you will have previous end-to-end experience with various social media platforms, as well as experience in implementing a social media strategy to promote the brand and engagement as part of a broader communications strategy.
  • Furthermore you will have experience using a variety or tools and applications such as social media analytics tools, in design applications including Adobe Illustrator and digital resources including CMS and marketing automation (EDMs).
  • You will have the ability to create content for all media platforms and to think creatively and develop and implement innovative solutions to communications issues.
  • An understanding of the Victorian Government social media and communications guidelines is desirable.
