Social Worker/Family Therapist - Intensive Community Mental Health Program (ICMHP)

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Social Worker with Family Therapy experience to join the ICMHP, within the Adult Programs, on a Full Time on going basis.

The role of the Intensive Community Mental Health Program (ICMHP) is to provide more hours of treatment, focused on delivering evidence-based multidisciplinary therapeutic interventions for a cohort of adults with serious mental illness and high needs being treated in the community. The program targets adult patients whose diagnosis and wellbeing assessments indicate they are at risk of recurring acute episodes and associated hospital admissions without more intensive therapeutic intervention.

The successful applicant will:

  • Deliver evidence based, multidisciplinary and therapeutic interventions to adult consumers with a serious mental illness and high levels of need who are living in the community.

  • Deliver additional treatment to consumers to stabilise their condition, reduce the likelihood or frequency of hospital admissions and reduce the risk of harm.

  • Will bring a family centred perspective to treatment even when treating individuals.

  • Evaluate family roles and development to understand how clients’ families affect their mental health.
