The Pakenham Community Mental Health Team provides an effective and comprehensive service to the Monash Adult Mental Health Program. Working within a multi-disciplinary team we provide treatment and support to individuals experiencing complex mental health problems. We strive to deliver high quality recovery-focused client care. Our aim is to promote self-efficacy and independence, and social inclusion with all the individuals we support.
About the Role
The Social Worker Grade 1 Mental Health Clinician position is a permanent part time (0.8EFT/4 days per week) entry level position designed to provide a supported introduction to Social work within the Adult Mental Health Service. This clinician will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality assessment, intervention and consultation. The Grade 1 clinician will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of assessment and intervention skills in community settings plus discipline specific assessments. The incumbent will be supported in their learning through education, supervision and through working in partnership with more experienced clinicians.
The Grade 1 clinician will actively facilitate groups, and provide care coordination and liaison with family/support systems. Case-loads will be graded and matched to the growing expertise of the Grade 1 clinician.
The role will suit a Social worker who is well organised and resourceful with demonstrated skills in psycho-social assessments, problem solving, communication and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, innovative and flexible practitioner with a good knowledge of resources, the Mental Health sector and referral networks. Previous Mental Health experience is essential and applicants must address the key selection criteria.
