About SECU


It is the largest Secure Service in the state with 50 beds across 3 units. It has a female only ward and based on a rehabilitation model of care. We work with 3 other health services and the forensic services.


About The Role


We are excited to announce a Gr2 Social Worker position within SECU based at Dandenong Hospital.


In this Social Worker (Grade @) position you will:



  • Provide direct clinical service to meet the needs of individuals, families and carers

  • Actively participate in the development of the Social Work program on SECU

  • Actively participate in training programme for new graduates and other professional development activities

  • Maintain client safety at all times through risk minimising work practice

  • Ensure all clients are reviewed on entry to the service and at milestones as outlined by the service objectives

  • Comply with completion of all OH&S and other mandatory training

  • Commitment to ongoing performance enhancement plan at 3 months and annually, with 6 monthly reviews

  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventions for individuals registered with service


Build and maintain partnerships with community non-government organisations to support client group


These are full-time ongoing roles, working across clinical shifts within the Emergency Department as required.

You have been developing your management and leadership skills or you are an accomplished Associate Nurse Manager; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your Career.
