Social Worker (Grade 2)
St. Albans Community Care Units CCU - MWAMHS
- Full time position working 80 hours per fortnight
- Based at St. Albans CCU

Life With Us:
- The Mid West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS) provides a comprehensive range of Mental Health services to adults who reside in the local government areas of Brimbank, Melton and parts of Hume (Sunbury & Bulla).
- St Albans CCU provides intensive recovery orientated treatment and interventions to adults between the ages of 18-64 years of age
- As the social worker you will work within a small multidisciplinary and supportive team, committed to the wellbeing of both colleagues and residents
Your new role:
- Provide specialist social work consultations and interventions to individuals and their families with complex mental health and psychosocial problems
- Prepare reports detailing assessment findings and outline relevant recommendations for the consumer, carers and other CCU staff.
- Plan, implement and evaluate procedures and provisions of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide leadership, education and support to clinicians within CCU.
About you
- Expertise in social work with a commitment to high standards of patient care.
- Knowledge of issues associated with psychiatric illness and awareness of the impact of these on dependent children, family and carers.
- Experience in community liaison and the development of community networks as relevant to a CCU setting.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively both as a member of the multidisciplinary team and to lead and supervise others.
- Excellent organisational, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
