The Solicitor/Senior Solicitor is a member of Land Use Victoria Legal, contributing to the delivery of high quality legal services to Land Use Victoria, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged. The Solicitor or Senior Solicitor will provide high quality specialised legal services to Land Use Victoria’s core business units being Land Registry Services and Strategic Land Assessment & Information including the Registrar of Titles, the Surveyor-General Victoria and the Valuer-General Victoria.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• Qualifications and Admission: Law degree or other formal qualification in law – mandatory.  Admitted, or eligible for admission, as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria-mandatory.
• Knowledge: Sound knowledge of the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (Victoria), Transfer of Land Act 1958, Operating Requirements for electronic conveyancing, Participation Rules for electronic conveyancing, Registrar's Requirements for paper conveyancing, Subdivision Act 1988, and associated regulations. 
• Experience: An understanding of the procedures for the examination and registration of dealings in land and water. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation, review and development of legislation; property law, land registration; land administration; contract law; public and administrative law; and the formulation of moderately complex (VPS 4) or complex (VPS 5) legal advice.
