Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
An Opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified Grade 3 Sonographer to join our Radiology Department on a Permanent Full Time basis. Remuneration will be dependent on experience and skills.
The Radiology Department operates at both the Austin and the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospitals and provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services to the patients of Austin Health and the surrounding community. As a part of the Ultrasound service provided at Austin Health, Sonographers are required to rotate across both campuses.
Ultrasounds for inpatients, including ICU and emergency department patients are performed at the Austin Hospital. The Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital deals almost entirely with outpatients. Appointment times are 30 minutes and involve a range of primary and tertiary level general, breast, and gynaecological imaging. Ultrasound machines include a mix of Philips Epiq and Canon i800’s.
