The Spatial Consultant, Coordinated Imagery Program role is responsible for the initiation of acquisition projects and stakeholder engagement that improves the outcomes of spatial data investments across public sector partners in Victoria.

An exciting opportunity exists within the Land Information and Spatial Services (LISS) branch of the Strategic Land Assessment and Information Division – Land Use Victoria. The LISS branch delivers a range of services and functions including the Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP) which undertakes the collection of aerial survey and remote sensing data to support the delivery of government projects.

Playing a key role in the Vicmap Imagery and Elevation team and helping to deliver the Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP), the Spatial Consultant will support stakeholders by providing advice and project updates, monitoring satisfaction and delivering service improvements, consolidating data project requirements. This role is responsible for the initiation of acquisition projects and stakeholder engagement that improves the outcomes of spatial data investments across public sector partners in Victoria.

The role functions as one of a team of imagery and elevation subject matter experts that deliver the Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP), and will support the delivery of geospatial imagery and elevation products and services to stakeholders.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in a geospatial science, or GISP-AP certification is required. 
  • Experience in the management or acquisition of remotely sensed spatial data products and services is desirable.
  • Experience with image analysis and GIS software any of the following technologies is desirable: FME, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, ArcGis Pro, QGIS.

This is a fixed term position available for 6 months.
