About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Speech Pathology Department provides best practice services to groups and individuals of all ages, across a range of community and hospital programs.  Care is delivered as part of an established and progressive multidisciplinary team which includes a range of Allied Health, Nursing and Medical services.    

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our Child Health and Development team in the role of Advanced Paediatric Practitioner.  You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, clients and their families/carers to undertake a range of assessments and therapy to achieve optimal client outcomes. You will support the development and maintenance of a high quality care environment and promote and participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives.

The position is a temporary part-time position (0.4 EFT Grade 3 / 0.2 EFT Grade 2) and based at our Warrnambool Campus.

What you bring

As a Speech Pathologist, you will have 5+ years' experience in the provision of paediatric speech pathology services to the early years (0-6 years).  Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled team of professionals, excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential, and a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of legislation, regulation and contemporary practice is a must.   The successful applicant must be willing to complete advanced training and undertake clinical competencies as directed by relevant allied health managers to enable provision of comprehensive assessment of community-based paediatric clients.  You will demonstrate a collaborative leadership approach to interdisciplinary practice and interagency interactions.
