4th Year Speech Pathology Students 2021 – Bursary Opportunity

Interested in financial assistance to help finish your course, plus eligibility for a full-time position as a rotating Speech Pathologist at a major sub-regional health service?


Wimmera Health Care Group is based in Horsham, 300kms north-west of Melbourne and 450kms east of Adelaide.  It is the largest hospital in the Wimmera region and provides a range of specialist services including a broad range of Allied Health Services.


Wimmera Health Care Group is offering a bursary agreement to a final year Speech Pathology student. The bursary agreement provides financial support in the final year of study amounting to a total of $3,500, to reimburse for costs associated with study (e.g. course fees, laptop, textbooks, etc). The approved bursary position will commence a 1 year full time contract position at Wimmera Health Care Group as a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist in January 2022.


The WHCG Speech Pathology department provides efficient, effective, evidenced based speech pathology services across all the campuses. The successful applicant will be responsible for a diverse adult and paediatric clinical caseload with rotations across our acute, subacute, community health, school readiness funding and speech pathology in schools programs. The Speech Pathology department places a strong emphasis on professional development, with a formalised clinical supervision and mentoring program.


Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled in the final year of an accredited Speech Pathology degree

  • Currently achieving a credit average or higher

  • Has a demonstrated interest in rural public health

  • Prepared to commit to at least 12 months service at Wimmera Health Care Group following the completion of qualifications
