An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Surgical Spine Fellow to join our Neurosurgery Unit commencing from February 2023.

Details of Department;

The Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Units are located at the Austin Hospital, both units are committed to the provision of high quality patient care and maintains an ongoing commitment to Under Graduate and Post Graduate teaching. Also provided is a consultative service for other Units within Austin Health.

Details of position/position requirements

The aim of the Fellowship is to expose the Fellow to the full range of spinal pathology. At the conclusion of 12 months, it is expected that the fellow will have achieved a high degree of confidence in all aspects of spinal surgery, including fixation for trauma, degenerative disease and scoliosis.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:

• Be a Medical Practitioner with Australian Registration


• Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic surgery


• Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care


• Demonstrate capability and interest in research


• Demonstrate a commitment to teaching


• Exhibit an ability to communicate at all levels


• Demonstrate surgical competency, including suture skills


• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration
