Ambulance Victoria (AV) is recruiting for a permanent, full time Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator to join our Emergency Management Unit. The Emergency Management Unit is responsible for leading the development of emergency management policy and effective emergency management planning and resilience across Ambulance Victoria. Located within the Emergency Management Unit at our City location.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the whole of AV is engaged, aware and able to respond to emergencies and public events by promoting engagement with AV's emergency plans, promoting, and assisting in the coordination of emergency management training and exercises, promoting the use of and advocating the need for specialist resources and promoting engagement with AV's State-wide public event program. The role is also responsible for ensuring that AV is engaged in emergency management networks, reference groups, and planning at local, Municipal, Regional and State level by building relationships and engaging key stakeholders.  During emergencies and escalations of the Emergency Response Plan, this role will be to undertake a functional or lead role in the Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre (AEOC).

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Emergency Management the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring emergency management is engaged well with all key internal and external Stakeholders
  • Working directly with State level and key external partners, including critical and major infrastructure operators, to ensure AV is well engaged in their emergency management arrangements
  • Contributing to the development of the Emergency Management annual resource model by providing input from a whole of AV perspective
  • Managing the impact of Emergency Management activities undertaken and implemented, creating positive working environments and effective operations
  • Creating and sustaining a safe work environment and behaviour practice and be a safety role model
  • Undertaking the role of Regional Health Commander – Metro (RHCM) as rostered (both day-to-day and on call) in line with CAA2 responsibilities.

About you

This role will suit you if you have experience or knowledge in ambulance, emergency service, health, or allied health service delivery operations. supported by an ambulance paramedic or emergency management qualification or related discipline (AHPRA) registration required.  In addition, your well-developed verbal and written communication skills will enable you to communicate with staff and stakeholders at various levels.

You will also be able to demonstrate interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills to effectively negotiate, communicate and consult with individuals, groups, employees, clients, government departments and public sector employees.

It will also be beneficial if you have

  • Australasian Interagency Incident Management System qualification
  • Level 3 Incident Controller qualification
  • Health Commander qualification

The salary for the Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator position is $174,588 p/a plus super (inclusive of CAA2).
