Support the Strategic Fuel Breaks program to meet business objectives and priorities by providing high-quality procedures, operational policies and standards.
The Strategic Fuel Breaks and Mechanical works program received significant investment that will support community and asset protection and provide strategic advantage for planned burning and fire control operations in the context of a rapidly changing climate.
The Standards Officer will support the coordination of the program statewide by developing and communicating standards for the delivery of strategic fuel break construction (or upgrade) and mechanical fuel treatment program across the state.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022. The successful applicant may request to work from any DELWP office location, subject to negotiation and COVID-Safe transitional arrangements.
The departmentplays a major role in Victoria's emergency response activities, through an all-hazards, all-emergencies approach. Staff undertaking these roles have been quarantined from performing emergency management roles and participation in planned burning operations.
