Ambulance Victoria (AV) is recruiting for a permanent, full time State Events Coordinator to join our Emergency Management Unit. The Emergency Management Unit is responsible for leading the development of emergency management policy and effective emergency management planning and resilience across Ambulance Victoria. Located within the Emergency Management Unit at our City location.

The primary focus of this role is to coordinate the development, delivery, and maintenance of AV's response to all planned state-wide public events to reduce the impact on AV business whilst meeting legislative, community and organisational obligations.  During emergencies and escalations of the Emergency Response Plan, this role will be to undertake a functional or lead role in the Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre (AEOC).

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Consequence and Planning the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervising the events team and ensure the effective and timely delivery of negotiated AV attendance and service delivery at public events
  • Managing the collation and assessment of upcoming public events to determine and recommend appropriate levels of support
  • Conducting post event reviews, determining future requirements and identifying and recommending solutions to key issues to the Manager Consequence and Planning
  • Managing the continuous improvement of the event notification and management process, recommending and implementing solutions as required
  • Undertaking the role of Regional Health Commander – Metro (RHCM) as rostered (both day-to-day and on call) in line with CAA2 responsibilities.

About you

This role will suit you if you have experience or knowledge in ambulance, emergency service, health, or allied health service delivery operations. supported by an ambulance paramedic or emergency management qualification or related discipline (AHPRA) registration required.  In addition, you will be demonstrated experience in the management of public events, including event planning, preparation, and post event review. Your well-developed verbal and written communication skills will enable you to communicate with staff and stakeholders clearly and succinctly to enable the preparation of well-structured documents and reports.

It will also be beneficial if you have

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Emergency Management
  • Australasian Interagency Incident Management System qualification
  • Experience in incident management at a minimum of AIIMS/ICS Section Leader level
  • Level 3 Incident Controller qualification
  • Health Commander qualification

The salary for the State Events Coordinator position is $174,588 p/a plus super (inclusive of CAA2).
