The opportunity  

The Strategic Intelligence Analyst and Data Custodian is responsible for undertaking complex research and analysis projects in areas relating to compliance with State Legislation, organisational compliance, strategic and tactical intelligence, and policy development. The position requires a person with a record of achievement in complex data analysis in the public or private sector.

Reporting to the Compliance Analysis and Data Quality Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking high level analysis and research tasks relating to organisational compliance and revenue issues and prepare associated research papers and reports.
  • Consolidating data inputs and the receipt and dissemination of data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Producing daily and monthly branch and divisional reports and monitoring and analysis of revenue collections against forecasts.
  • Providing expert analytical advice to senior management on revenue collections and matters under investigation.
  • Providing information to Treasury and other internal and external stakeholders relating to revenue collection matters and providing timely and appropriate responses to information/reports sought.

 

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated record of achievement as a senior analyst, preferably in a tax or revenue field, enabling the translation of data insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets, extract meaningful insights, and make data-driven decisions through advanced analytical techniques. 
  • Profound understanding and application of statistical methodologies and techniques, and the ability to apply them effectively to solve real-world problems using specialised analytical software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage work activities both in a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present findings, explain methodologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
