An Exciting opportunity for a Stroke Nurse Practitioner has become available. The permanent full-time Nurse Practitioner role will be responsible for the provision of specialised clinical nursing services in acute stroke care within Western Health.

Working within the division of Emergency, medicine and access, the successful applicant will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in providing advanced nursing assessment, advanced nursing management and education for patients who have suffered a stroke. The position will provide leadership and management in clinical improvement initiatives to ensure that the service is continually providing evidence based best practice specialist nursing advice consistent with the Western Health policy and clinical practice guidelines. 

To be Successful in this Role you

  • Need a registration as a Nurse and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner in Australia

  • Have a Master of Nursing (enabling registration as a Nurse Practitioner)

  • Have an advanced clinical knowledge in Stroke

  • Need to evidence of commitment to quality improvement

  • Need to have evidence of participation in the collection of data and report writing

  • Have a commitment to high quality, safe and person centred care
