Our Colleges outstanding Performing Arts program is highly regarded both within Victoria and also internationally. Our vibrant and innovate program includes Music, Singing, Dance and Drama, as well as many combinations of these disciplines, and we utilise the Musical Futures Program within the classrooms.  Students are involved in Performing Arts from Year 7 and can pursue their performing arts pathway by continuing through VCE and VET in their senior schooling. Students are provided numerous opportunities to participate in the Performing Arts outside of their curriculum, including our annual School Production (Musical), the Victorian State School Spectacular, Dance clubs, plus a wide variety of Music ensembles. We are very proud of our Performing Arts students and their accomplishments both whilst at secondary school and their achievements after leaving our College.

Selection Criteria

KSC1: Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role.

·         Proven ability to implement and support individualised Education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans in accordance with the Department of Education       Victorias guidelines and the schools policies.

·         Experience in supporting the delivering of targeted interventions and support programs for students with diverse learning needs.

·         Ability to assist in the documentation of student progress, ensuring compliance with legal and educational requirements.

·         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement support strategies.

·         Ability to contribute constructively to team meetings, sharing insights and expertise to enhance student outcomes.

KSC3: Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.

·         Sound oral communication skills, demonstrated through effective interactions with students, parents, and staff, including the ability to convey information in a clear and supportive manner.

·         High level written communication skills, including the ability to, document student progress, and maintain accurate records.

·         Experience using various communication platforms and tools to facilitate information sharing and collaboration within the school community.

KSC4: Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.

·         Knowledge of and experience with assistive technology, digital learning tools, and educational software used to support students with additional needs.

Position Overview

Inclusion Support staff will support the educational and wellbeing needs of students within Mount Clear College. The role involves working closely with teachers and other school staff to implement targeted interventions, support individual Education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans, and contribute to the overall inclusive learning environment of the school. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills to effectively support student learning and wellbeing.

Desirable

·         Certificate III or IV in Education Support or equivalent qualification or equivalent qualification or

·         Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly within a school is highly regarded

Other requirements

·         Current Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

1. Student Support and Engagement:

·         Assist in the implementation of individualised Education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans in accordance with school and departmental guidelines.

·         Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring their participation and engagement in classroom/educational activities.

·         Utilise strategies and assistive technology to support students academic and social-emotional development.

2. Collaboration and Teamwork:

·         Work collaboratively with teachers, Inclusion team, wellbeing staff, and external professionals to implement support strategies for students.

·         Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student progress, strategies, and interventions.

·         Foster a positive team culture that values inclusivity, shared responsibility, and collective problem-solving.

3. Communication and Documentation:

·         Maintain clear and accurate records of student progress, including documentation of observations and outcomes.

·         Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, conveying information in a clear and supportive manner.

·         Utilise various communication platforms and tools to facilitate information sharing and collaboration within the school community.
