We are seeking outstanding undergraduate students to participate in our six-week summer vacation scholarship program, and undertake research projects in areas as diverse as, cancer immunology, cell biology, cancer genomics & genetics, bioinformatics and clinical research.

Get involved in real-life laboratory-based research, and contribute to this exciting cancer research.

To be eligible, students should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Science/ Applied Science/ Biomedical Science or other relevant tertiary course. We are only accepting applications from students who will have completed a minimum of 3 years of full time undergraduate study by the end of 2021.

What happens once you have submitted your application?

  1. The potential supervisors will view all applications, and select students for interview.  Students selected for interviews will be advised by phone and/or email from 16th – 27th August 2021. Note: Unfortunately due to the high number of applications received we are unable to acknowledge every application. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

  2. Selected students and supervisors will work together to decide on the placement dates. If you are awarded a Peter Mac Summer Vacation Scholarship and studying at a Victorian university with an interest to do honours, we will work with you to prepare an application for a Cancer Council Victoria Summer Vacation Studentship 2021/22, applications for which are due in September.

  3. All successful students will be required to attend an induction held on 22nd November 2021 before commencing their project.
