Support Officer, Tarrengower Offender Services - Tarrengower Prison– Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Employment Program)

If you're aged between 17 and 29, and you're currently unemployed or have had your hours at work greatly reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we would love for you to consider becoming a support officer for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (This is an eligibility requirement of the Youth Employment Program, Please ensure you meet these requirements before applying)

 

About the job:


We're looking to recruit a Support Officer to join the Tarrengower Offender Services based in Nuggetty on a full-time 9-month fixed term contract, with the potential to undertake further training and develop a career within the Victorian Public Service.


  •Earn a full-time VPS Grade 1 salary ($49,231 - $52,261)


  •Enjoy education, mentoring and transition support to improve chances of further employment.


  •Anyone aged 17-29 is eligible to apply. Priority consideration will be given to people with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) applicants, who have been more adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This position is based onsite pending Government health directions. Onsite location will be based 9 Maldon-Shelbourne Road, NUGGETTY 3463.

The daily duties will typically involve:


  • Diary Management, Booking rooms for programs, avoiding clashes and scheduling programs


  • Coordinate COVID Communications. Distribute and display updated fact sheets in the relevant areas of the prison, remove and dispose of out of date fact sheets


  • Programs Preparation. Print and collate program materials, order supplies where relevant, set up rooms for programs


  • File documents such as meeting agenda's and minutes
