The Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) is a $543M 195 bed stand-alone heart hospital, which is a first in Australia.  Construction of the hospital has commenced on the Monash University site in Clayton.  The hospital will be managed by Monash Health and is expected to be opened in early 2023. We are now looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager in our Support Services team, to lead the planning, commissioning and implementation of a significant proportion of the non-clinical functions for the VHH project.  The appointment willbe for a fixed term until early February 2023, working full time hours across Monday-Friday. 


About the Role


As a member of the VHH Project and Planning team and reporting to the Director Support Services, this is a senior role whose responsibilities will encompass a range of activities across the project continuum.  They focus on the provision of non-clinical services that include food services, patient support, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, washroom services, vending services and environmental sustainability.  You will need to develop effective working relationships at multiple levels including the Executive, as well as both clinical and non-clinical areas.


In addition this position will play a pivotal role in working with both our Procurement team and with Monash University in relation to the logistics model require to deliver services to Victorian Heart Hospital.


About You


With proven experience in successfully delivering complex capital projects, along with extensive experience managing non-clinical services, you can also demonstrate:



  • strong written and oral communication skills including active listening;

  • excellent negotiation skills;

  • proven ability to work effectively within a team, which may include both internal and external stakeholders;

  • ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities; and

  • outstanding organisation, analytical and problem solving skills.


Importantly, you have the ability to lead change in a positive and productive manner. Previous experience in a complex healthcare environment will be highly regarded.
