Role: Surveillance Officer (until 31 December 2021)

Position Summary: 

  • Enter date in the Surveillance system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Administer basic data quality controls to all COVID-19 related notifications


  • Review records for cases and contacts related to COVD-19 response and ensure links are created appropriately.
  • create exposure sites and automatically generated outbreak reports, ensuring these are classified and stored correctly.
  • update automatically generated outbreak reports
  • work closely with other members of COVID-19 Intelligence & Analytics teams to ensure case, contact and exposure site date cleanliness, and to ensure epidemiological links are identified and classified correctly. 
  • escalate issues and problems with data to the Pod Lead 
  • keep accurate and complete records in the CRM so that all activities are accurately recorded.
  • monitor case and contact records including free text notes and ensure data quality and completeness is maintained.
  • participate in surveillance activities an meetings at the direction of the Pod Lead.
  • complete especial project date cleaning as required.
