About the role

Salary range: $121,073–141,546 plus statutory super

This role will require you to

• Develop, implement, and monitor a risk-based business plan for teacher engagement and registration.
• Provide operational oversight and lead teams to deliver the VIT's teacher engagement and registration functions, motivating and managing performance and providing capability development.
• Engage with duty holders (teachers, early childhood teachers and employers of teachers) to inform and educate about registering and maintaining teacher registration and identify and respond to stakeholder needs.
• Monitor and review registration policy and processes; proactively identify opportunities and risks and promote continuous improvement of processes and practices.
• Use data and business intelligence to report on application progress and the status of the teacher register, and to identify and respond to new and emerging strategic issues that impact the work of the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch.
• Provide high quality reports, briefings and advice to the Director, Teacher Education and Registration and the VIT Executive and VIT Council.
• Actively model the Victorian public sector values and the VIT Behaviours, always behaving in a principled and respectful manner.
• Display resilience and flexibility and work productively and collaboratively within and across the VIT branches.

About you

As an experienced operational leader, you will have sound and practical knowledge of current process for managing registration / licencing or similar processes. You will have experience working with policy and stakeholders, and ideally a passion for child safety and experience working with the education sector.

You will have strong people management experience, combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes. In addition to this, you will have experience working in a regulatory or similar environment and expertise in delivering high quality services, managing and improving performance, and using data inform progress and decision making.
