The Position: Team Leader Primary Mental Health Program 

Title:  Team Leader Primary Mental Health Program 

Department:   Wellbeing and Primary Mental Health Department 

Classification:  Dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours per fortnight: 64 however negotiable

Status: Permanent


Applications are sought from suitably qualified health professional to work in the Wellbeing and Primary Mental Health Department at Echuca Regional Health.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for the intake and allocation of clients into the Primary Mental Health Therapeutic Programs
  • Ensure that service provision is based upon a stepped care of therapeutic intervention responsive to the identified clinical needs of clients
  • Provide responsive day to day operational functioning of the Primary Mental Health Program
  • Engage and support staff in service delivery, professional development and ensure regular and effective supervision of staff is achieved
  • Allocate and manage staff and resources to ensure daily activities of the department are achieved including planning for leave
  • Lead regular team meetings that support team building, service planning and review, professional development and risk management
  • Support staff to understand and work to program deliverables, including data collection, case record management and key systems and processes
  • Work with the manager to identify and respond to emerging performance management issues or staff health and safety matters

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Qualifications in  Psychology, Mental Health  Social Work, Mental Health Occupational Therapy   
  • Proven experience in managing complex program areas and client list    
  • High-level awareness of self in context of leading a dynamic team      
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program areas and mental health governance    
  • Strong leadership skills

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment. In addition, this position requires evidence of vaccination status for COVID-19.
