Job Description

About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Technical Applications Analyst to support, maintain and enhance Development Victoria’s application environment and deliver innovative technology solutions in alignment with business needs and the ICT Strategy.

As an Technical Applications Analyst, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Administer, maintain and update applications as they relate to;
    • Data Analytics including data warehouse, Tableau and Alteryx
    • Finance System (TechnologyOne)
    • Document Management System (Content Manager/TRIM)
    • Customer Relationship Management system (Runway CRM)
    • Office 365
  • Provide SQL database support particularly in relation to reporting, data analytics and visualization
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support involving integrations, cloud solutions, infrastructure as they relate to supported applications
  • Provide support to ICT projects in the areas of evaluation, implementation, testing and integration of new applications whilst adhering to change management processes
  • Investigate and diagnose application faults, performing root cause analysis when appropriate and providing suitable solutions
  • Regularly collaborate with teams to ensure support needs are being met
  • Deliver training to end users on the correct use of applications on a regular basis

Work Health & Safety

  • Taking care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by Development Victoria’s operations;
  • Meeting the WHS responsibilities outlined in Development Victoria’s WHS policies, guidelines and the requirements of their Position Descriptions;
  • Reporting accidents or incidents or potential hazards to the WHS Manager or their direct manager;
  • Knowing the processes involved in monitoring and reporting on the health and safety of contractors, consultants, and others at workplaces under Development Victoria’s’ control;
  • Complying with all safety directives and instructions;
  • Actively participating in any training and WHS initiatives.

Employees are expected to support Development Victoria to continuously improve its safety performance in any way that they can.

Risk Management

  • Maintain an awareness of risks relevant to their area of responsibility and implement effective risk management practices.
  • Communicate and escalate significant risks to managers.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

Knowledge, skills and experience;

  • Proven day-to-day ICT application administration experience (at least 5 years) and end user support
  • Strong technical knowledge of business application and infrastructure solutions in some or all of the following:
    • Data warehouse, Tableau and Alteryx
    • Microsoft SQL Server (2012 and above)
    • Technology One
    • Document Management System (Content Manager/TRIM)
    • Customer Relationship Management System (Runway CRM)
  • Ability to write SQL queries and experience with data analytics/reporting platforms (highly desirable)
  • Experience in application support, business analysis, gathering requirements and translating these to specifications for system improvements
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams and vendors
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with ability to proactively identify improvement opportunities
  • Strong communication and documentation skills – can adapt language, content and style depending on audience and message to be conveyed
  • Computer Science or ICT bachelor’s degree (with business analysis/software development/architecture major), or Business/Commerce qualifications
