Reporting to the Technical Officer - Vaccine Development and Production, the Technical Assistant - Vaccine Production is a Bendigo-based position that provides specialist technical assistance and support to Pig Services Centre (PSC) staff, to develop and manufacture high-quality autogenous vaccines for the pig industry.

This is a hands-on role involving all aspects of vaccine production utilising established procedures, however initiative and commitment to scientific methods, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality control, are essential requirements. The position contributes to the development and maintenance of consistent quality control practices and requires excellent laboratory and organisation skills, along with good communication skills.

Biosecurity staff play a major role in supporting Victoria's fire and flood emergency response activities, biosecurity incursions and compliance actions. Staff may be required to undertake activities to support an emergency response, necessitating a rapid change of work priorities.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the PSC, as required.
