Reporting to the Team Lead, Storage & Unix Services and working with stakeholders across functions and organisational levels, you will be responsible for delivering projects as well as operational efficiencies within the Unix and Linux technical stream.

The opportunity:

We are looking for an Exadata technical specialist with experience in setting up and migrating oracle databases from sparc to Exadata.

Responsibilities:

• Provide inputs on initial setup of Exadata
• Migrate Oracle databases of different versions from sparc servers to Exadata
• Experience in working in a multi-tenant Exadata configuration.
• Experienced in all aspects of Exadata including managing ZFS storage, InfiniBand switches and Oracle virtualisation for x86 and sparc.
• This role will be expected to engage with customers about Oracle migrations and provide technical plans to customers for it.

To be a success in this role you will have:

• Previous experience in complex DB migrations between different platform and a basic understanding of databases.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with large scale unix and linux infrastructure (1000+ servers)
• Experience in patching and maintaining Solaris 10, 11, Redhat and SuSe, Oracle Ops Centre virtualisation (LDOMS & zones)
• Configuration management using Ansible
