About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Supply and Logistics department is seeking an experienced Tenders and Contracts officer to join the team in a permanent full time position.

The Tenders and Contracts officer is responsible for supporting a regional procurement transformation as part of Victoria's Supply Chain Reform strategy. The role offers great diversity in undertaking tenders across multiple disciplines. These include, complex medical equipment, facilities/plant equipment, small scale construction and maintenance / service contracts to name a few.  The role is designed to support and ensure best value outcomes for 10 health services across South West Victoria.

What you bring

The Tenders and Contracts officer will have a good understanding of tendering, specification development and other key procurement tasks. In addition the officer should have a reasonable appreciation for procurement governance including legislative obligations. By bringing together appropriate resources, skills, technology and ideas this position will deliver benefits to the region and best value outcomes. 

The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge and proven experience in commercial procurement practices including category management and strategic sourcing. Business acumen, analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to identify issues and develop solutions is critical to the success of this role as well as high quality written and verbal communication skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Procurement and Contracting or Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be highly regarded. Prior public health sector experience is highly desirable.
