About our Dandenong Operating Theatre at Monash Health


The Operating Theatre Complex at Dandenong Hospital comprises 8 Operating Theatres that cater for a wide variety of surgical specialities. These specialities include Orthopaedics, Plastics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Colorectal, Maxillofacial and General Surgery. We support our patients throughout their stay at Monash Health by collaborating with our co-located medical and post-surgical wards


About the Role


Theatre Technicians are an integral part of the Monash Health Perioperative Services team, providing support to the surgical and nursing staff to ensure positive patient outcomes are achieved. We are seeking applicants looking for part time/full time hours. The successful applicant will take a team and patient focus on the delivery of care, assiting with the patient’s safe journey through theatre. The position is responsible for:



  • Transporting patients to and from the operating room

  • Positioning and preparation of patients for surgery

  • Setting up each operating theatre with specialty/surgery specific equipment

  • Ensuring all equipment is functioning and correctly maintained

  • Cleaning of equipment in accordance with Monash Health and manufacturers guidelines


About You


You are a proactive, experienced Theatre Technician who enjoys a fast paced environment and can work effectively in an autonomous role. Safety is paramount in this role whilst we advocate for patients in their most vulnerable state. Prioritising comes naturally to you and being in a hospital environment you exhibit integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. We are a close-knit team who value collaboration and the will to help each other.

  • Proven and extensive technical skills/ experience

  • Proactive, organised and can work autonomously and multi task in a busy environment

  • Dynamic and enthusiastic work ethic

  • Good communication and people skill
