Training Officer/ Careers Advisor

Staff Development Unit

Admin Grade 3 (HS3)

Permanent Part Time
(48 hrs per fortnight)

Wimmera Health Care Group has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our dedicated Staff Development Unit. This permanent part time position includes working Monday to Friday and is responsible for facilitating essential training and assessment activities and advising team members of possible career pathways and areas of potential future training and employment. Particular focus for training will be given to team members who have no/low computer skills, have not completed secondary school and/or English may be a second language.

Key Selection Criteria include:


  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - or working towards

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in relevant fields (such as teaching, careers counselling or human resources)

  • Advanced Computer skills

  • Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of continual improvement resulting in positive and best practice outcomes

  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently

  • Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor and develop team members, and deliver constructive feedback promptly and sensitively

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills

  • Capacity and willingness to be flexible, adaptable and use initiative

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and commitment to quality


  • Demonstrated experience in education, development and supervision in relevant area

  • Experience in the healthcare industry

  • Experience in scheduling, marketing, coordination and delivery of both large and small scale training events
