Transition to Specialty Practice Program - Neonatal and Paediatric Nursing 2024: RN's Grade 2

  • Opportunities across Box Hill and Angliss Hospitals, in the Special Care Nurseries and Paediatric ward
  • Permanent Part-time (0.8EFT) or Full Time (by negotiation)
  • 12-month streamlined Transition to Specialty Practice Program

 The Transition to Specialty Practice (TSP) Program provides a robust introduction for Registered Nurses wishing to pursue a career in Neonatal and Paediatric Nursing.

About the Role

You will have the opportunity to incorporate theoretical elements and gain practical experience in our paediatric ward and special care nurseries.  The program is designed with dedicated study days, learning packages and clinical assessments.

During the course, you will be thoroughly supported by clinical experts and have access to clinical education staff and associated resources from the Learning and Teaching team.

The program provides a clear career pathway for Registered Nurses seeking to work in this specialty environment, whilst enhancing your critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, and is a great stepping stone to Post Graduate studies.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you should possess the following:

  • Current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia AHPRA registration
  • Recent acute clinical experience (1+ years post registration experience with successful completion of a Graduate Program preferred)
  • Proactive, reflective, self-directed learner
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • A focus on family centred care
  • Team player
