What You Will Be Doing The Women’s Health Unit at Peninsula Health is looking to recruit motivated Obstetric and Gynaecology Unaccredited Registrars to join our dynamic and positive team.Peninsula Health provides care for around 3000 births a year. We provide a Level 5 maternity service (32 weeks on ward) and cater for high risk pregnancies through our Complex Pregnancy Clinic, Fetal Diagnostic Service and Fetal Monitoring Service. We provide acute and elective gynaecological services that includes AGES level 5 laparoscopy and gynaecology oncology.
Successful candidates will be offered:• Opportunities to manage Obstetric and Gynaecological patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.• Supervision and back up by Consultant Staff with scope to extend to manage patients more independently as appropriate.• Some exposure to supervised gynaecological operating.• Regular shifts in antenatal clinic and on Labour Ward (including after hours and night duties) with participation in supervision and teaching of Junior Trainees and Medical Students.• The opportunity to perform theatre lists independently with indirect supervision, according to experience and credentialing status.• Regular teaching and journal club sessions.• The opportunity to develop skills and experience in medical education and clinical governance activities.• The Unit prides itself on the support and mentoring we provide as well as the strong working relationship we have with midwives, nurses, Allied Health and other specialties.• Research opportunities are available on site with Statistical and Human Research Ethics Committee support.
What You NeedESSENTIAL CRITERIA• Obstetric and Gynaecological experience for a minimum of 2 years• Able to manage independently, with indirect supervision, the birth suite, instrumental births, and caesarean sections.• General, Limited or provisional AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner• Ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA• Demonstrated interest or experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
