What You Will Be Doing

COVID 19 vaccine nurse immunisers will be responsible for the preparation, administration and post administration observation of the COVID 19 vaccine. You will work alongside a qualified nurse immuniser to deliver the vaccination program to Peninsula Health employees and other persons as required by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare the vaccine in accordance with Product Information or Peninsula Health
• Ensure pre-vaccination screening has been completed
• Administer the vaccine
• Provide advice on post vaccination care and common adverse events
• Enter immunisation data in relevant databases as required
• Maintain immunisation workstations, including restocking, cleaning and rubbish/sharps removal

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
• Emergency authorised workforce – Aboriginal health practitioner, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, registered nurses, midwives, paramedics
• Current (within 12 months) BLS certificate and anaphylaxis management certificate
• Completion of the Mandatory Training on COVID-19 vaccine required Victorian COVID-19 e-learning competency modules 1-3 plus the online new immuniser simulation.
•Completion of the required National COVID-19 Vaccination Training Program- 6 core modules plus the additional Astra Zenica specific module.
