Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is a city and state-shaping project that will transform Victoria’s public transport system, connecting our suburbs and creating opportunities in great places. The 90-kilometre Loop will link every major rail line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line, via Melbourne Airport, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Beyond the rail infrastructure and cross-suburb travel connections, over time SRL will reshape Melbourne from a city centred around a single CBD to a ‘city of centres’ – attracting more businesses and people to the broader station areas and creating more jobs in Melbourne’s middle suburbs closer to where people live. Local initiatives will include new and improved open and public space, tree planting, more walking and cycling paths, retail and hospitality areas and plazas.

About the opportunity

The Verification and Validation Manager is responsible for determining the testing, evaluation and associated validation and verification plans, processes, and schedules for the Suburban Rail Loop Authority. You'll work closely with Principal Engineers and their teams across our Engineering & Assurance group to ensure that Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Verification & Validation (V&V) activities are incorporated and planned early on in the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Program lifecycle. You'll also be required to:

• Develop a Test and Evaluation Strategy for the SRL Capability that includes Verification and Validation Management Planning and Acceptance Test Planning
• Plan the Acceptance Verification activities for the SRL operational and support system
• Plan the Acceptance Validation activities for the SRL support system
• Support development of the SRLA governance framework to support/encourage the establishment of an Integrated Test Team

About you

You'll be an established T&E and/or V&E specialist who is looking to take ownership and management of setting up and implementing processes that will assure the successful completion of the SRL Program.

We're also looking for:

• A degree in engineering, science or a related discipline
• Proven ability to guide and mentor the design, delivery, construction, completions and integration teams on Verification and Validation tools, techniques and methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
• Sound knowledge of systems engineering and assurance standards
• A high degree of experience/competence with Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems
