Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PPA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Transport and Planning. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.

The Vicmap Spatial Business Analyst provides process business analysis skills to support Vicmap Production.  The core responsibilities will be ensuring process mapping and knowledge capture, requirements gathering, and documentation are sourced from stakeholders and outcomes are documented for process improvement.  Having high quality interpersonal skills and critical thinking will be key.

The Vicmap Spatial Business Analyst is an ongoing role within the Vicmap Spatial Services Branch, which provides accessible foundational spatial data services through the trusted Vicmap brand, coordinates state and local investment in aerial photography and elevation data acquisition, facilitates business innovation through digital enhancement and leads industry engagement activities that connects new and existing government, community and business customers with our spatial services. 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Experience capturing end to end (E2E) spatial data management processes is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis within an information technology environment
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills are desirable

 This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
