Ward Clerk - Emergency General Surgery
3 South is a 28 bed ward at RMH primarily caring for Emergency General Surgical Patients, who are admitted directly from out Emergency Department. With a shorter average length of stay by comparison, 3 South is a fast paced surgical ward that remains dedicated to holistic care. Through the support our team provides to each other, including using a ‘buddy nursing’ team approach, we help to ensure safe, timely, effective patient centred care for all our patients.
Your Opportunity:
The Ward Clerk role is ideal for a dynamic and self-motivated person who thrives on working in what can be a busy environment. The main duties of the ward clerk are administrative and clerical work related to patient admissions, in-patient stays and discharges, working under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Manager or Nurse-in-Charge.
Other duties include being the first point of contact for visitors arriving on the ward, answering the phone, data entry, booking appointments, maintaining clinical information systems and staff support.
