The opportunity

The role of Wellbeing, Health & Safety Lead will be a critical support to the Manager, People Culture and Capability, acting as a trusted and expert advisor for SV across Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS).  

As a coach and mentor, you will work closely with SV's Leadership Team to develop and embed our Wellbeing, Health & Safety Strategy throughout the employee lifecycle.   You will bring your strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles, compliance, OHS legislation, together with your passion for wellbeing & progressive thinking to truly make impact and shape SV's overall approach to Wellbeing, Health & Safety. 

This role will ensure that SV has the right WHS processes, policies and education in place throughout the employee lifecycle to uphold SV's commitment to providing a safe working environment where all employees are treated fairly, with respect and dignity and wellbeing is at the heart of all that we do.   You will be responsible for providing advice and support to employees across the organisation to ensure high quality and effective WHS approaches are understood and incorporated into business-as-usual practices

About the role:

Partnering across the organisation you will work to identify and develop WHS solutions that support alignment to the VPS Values and OneSV Cultural aspirations including:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of SV's Wellbeing, Health & Safety Strategy and plan and support hybrid working and delivering priority interventions.
  • Lead, champion and act as am ambassador to SV's approach to wellbeing (mental and physical)
  • Lead breakthrough projects and drive the success of SV's internal WHS committee.
  • Ensure all employees understand their legal obligation under the OH&S Act and receive regular training to perform jobs safely.
  • Implement and monitor the organisation's OH&S policies, procedures, safety rules and programs in the relevant work area to achieve and maintain OH&S standards.
  • Regularly monitor and report on wellbeing, health and safety performance to inform risk management and continuous improvement
  • Oversee effective return to work and insurances practices
