ABOUT THE ROLE:

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a public hospital servicing the growing community of the West. Our service is expanding and with increased demand we are inviting experienced and motivated Registered Nurses, Midwives and Mental Health Clinicians to join our casual workforce.

The casual workforce is responsible for filling vacancies within our specialty services across Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Mental Health.

We are currently looking for casual staff in the following areas:

Medical, Surgical & Sub Acute wards

  • Maternity
  • Paediatric Ward
  • Special Care Nursery
  • Emergency Department
  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Renal Dialysis Unit
  • Hospital in The Home
  • Mercy Mental Health including Inpatient Wards, Emergency Mental Health & Community Teams

 Joining our casual workforce you will:

  • Be registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working within an Australian acute hospital setting.
  • Be committed to the delivery of a high standard of patient centred care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of best patient outcomes.
  • Strong critical thinking skill and clinical knowledge with the ability to advocate for the patient.
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to commit to at least 2 shifts per fortnight across a rotating roster.

Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
